March Photo of the day. I thought I would try my hand at this daily photo shoot. I will do my best here to get what I can with the time I have. I travel a lot, so I bought a used Pro1 to take with me as this will fit in my luggage a lot easier than my DSLR.
March 30: Up close and personal. I spent a lot of today helping my daughter setup her pictures and some galleries here on my website. She had fun and we took some pictures together today again. I had a hard time choosing a shot today as I was able to get a few really nice shots. I had the girls in for a vote and between us we selected this shot. I loaded the others in my macro directory, sans one I am saving for a DP if I need one :). We had rain most of the day so I took this shot in doors behind me on a small table draped with a white sheet. I mounted the macro on the tripod and was able to get 1.1:1 mag with this shot. Lighting was done with the onboard flash in commander mode triggering my SB800 fired into a bounce reflector and hand held on the left side. Hence the shadows and 3d effect on the left. Direct flash even with a diffuser gave a flat shot.
EXIF
D200
105 mm Macro tripod mounded. Manual focus, no VR, tripod mounted, electronic trigger
1/60 sec
f /16
ISO 125
Just for the record, this is not a crop but a 1.1:1 magnification on the flower. This shot filled the frame as shown.
