 The "Lexicont" Challenge...06/15/09
The Challenge:Show us your interpretation of "Lexicon Challenge".
The Participants: Kre8ive, The Curious Camel, Karina, Creative Deviance, Lady Kate, Johnloguk, FotoEffects, Hillary, CSPics, and myself.
The Result: For this weeks challenge I choose the word "Diaphanous" meaning "Characterized by extreme delicacy of form" This reminded me of the delicate pedals of a flower. While in the new Whole Foods store I saw somw white calla Lily's and I thought of the challenge. I shot these Sunday afternoon and thought B&W would be good for the challenge of what I was trying to convey so I did the conversion in PS and here we are.
John (300m) > The Black and White Challenge...05/18/09
The Challenge:Show us your interpretation of Black and White.
The Participants: Kre8ive, The Curious Camel, Karina, Creative Deviance, Lady Kate, Johnloguk, FotoEffects, Hillary, CSPics, and myself.
The Result: "Strange Brew kill what's inside of you" Cream,1967. Lyrics by eric clapton, gail collins and felix pappalardi

This is what you always wanted to do with you wife's best crystal. Play with water and fountain pen ink. I was not that happy the results late last night so I played around with the shot in photoshop. This is my result. I shot the original subject against a mosaic glass background which gives that ghost effect in the background. I was a bit tired at midnight when I finished but I think I got the effect.
John (300m) > Tree Challenge shot.
This is one of several I took for a challenge on trees.
John (300m) > Tree at the fort.
John (300m) > Death of a Rose
John (300m) > Lilly in the grass.
John (300m) > Up close on some grass in the yard converted to black & white as I liked the look. This is actually a weed, crabgrass up close.
John (300m) > Petunia - Black & white shot. She is watching Kara intently
John (300m) > Second time at Bodie Island Lighthouse. It had just finished raining, was still cloudy and humid. I tried another of the light house and I liked this B&W conversion the best. I have lots of color shot of this lighthouse and no B&W so I wanted to try to do it some justice with the time left that we had. But the rain sure put a damper on a lot of my ideas.
