John (300m) > Oct 10: A Rose is a Rose
I was doing some chores in the yard yesterday AM when I saw this bloom on our rose bush. Like the others I figure this is maybe my last of the year. I see 2 more buds, but I am not hopeful. I like the way the light from the overcast sky was playing on this so I went and got my camera and took several shots hand held before I went back to my chores. I really liked this shot best of the group. It's the weekend, Enjoy!!

John (300m) > October 1: Last blooms
I captured this yesterday during my walk with my point and shoot. With my car being worked on and having to park in limbo land I did not want to leave my camera so I carried my little one. I sure did miss my big Nikon! Funny how you get use to the features of what ever model camera it is you use and when you have to use another you are less happy. The shutter lag like to drove me nuts yesterday as I had got use to the burst speed of the camera and I missed a few shots on timing. My butterfly shots were yuck! I saw a few flower shots while I was walking, I figure these are the last of the year as we are actually getting below 70 now and the flower will give up the ghost once it gets to 50 or less at night. I captured a lilly that was fading and this one. I liked the blur and the color so I decided to use this shot. I will catchup on comments today as I go sick last night and went to bed early.
