John (300m) > Oct 30: Artistic Impressions
I did my usual walk yesterday, it was cold and blustery, I forgot my camera. So I took the shots with my point & shoot and was not happy with any that I took. I did this shot instead as I was inspired by Lyndon's texture mapping and I did some experimenting with this picture to get this effect you see here. Each layer is different and I blended them together to get the overall effect you see here. Then I made a frame to go around the shot based on the colors in the picture.
John (300m) > Oct 10: A Rose is a Rose
I was doing some chores in the yard yesterday AM when I saw this bloom on our rose bush. Like the others I figure this is maybe my last of the year. I see 2 more buds, but I am not hopeful. I like the way the light from the overcast sky was playing on this so I went and got my camera and took several shots hand held before I went back to my chores. I really liked this shot best of the group. It's the weekend, Enjoy!!

John (300m) > Oct 6: Blazing colors
I went for my walk yesterday and I saw a few items of interest to photograph. i decided to be different and carry the macro for a different perspective. I was caught in some precarious positions yesterday by folks. This shot I spotted walking around a corner. I really liked what the sunlight did in backlighting this shot. It was however a bit difficult to get as the wind was blowing and I had to raise the ISO to even capture the shot. I was leaning against one of the 6" cannons in front of the museum to capture this shot to get a stable platform. The 6" are small and mounted on concrete platforms next to this tree. I had 1 leg on the platform the other on the ground :)
Enjoy and have a good day

John (300m) > Oct 5: Surrender Field
I went out to Yorktown yesterday looking for something different and possiably some fall colors. As you can see from the shot we do not have a lot of color yet. It still pretty warm here with the evenings in the low 60's to high 50's. It needs to get a little cooler at the end of the month for the leaves to start changing and show us some color. I set the camera up in the lot here a the field as I like the view and the conditions were great. The sky was so clear and blue that it made a great shot with out any additional work. 4 shot panoramic with the brown grass in foreground cropped. I put up two other fall color shots here FallSigh, it's Monday Have a good week everyone
