John (300m) > Nov 9: Before the rain
I went to my favorite spot yesterday morning early with the intent of capturing a early fall morning on the water here. However mother nature had other ideas as it started to drizzle when I got there. I setup anyway and took some shots as I had drove 30 miles to get this shot. By the time I finished it was raining and I was getting wet. I was determined to get a few shots and this one shows the light leaving and the storm over the trees. The sun was behind me in this shot and I think that is the only reason I go this shot, Enjoy the weekend
John (300m) > July 26: Available light shot
Today was a very busy day, I started by taking the family to breakfast and then my wife had to go to work. I ended up with a migraine so I lost a few hrs in the morning. I did chores around the house and other items that needed to be done. I did some work on nodal points for pano's. More in the future. We then went out to dinner, bookstore and took some pictures. So by the time I got home to look at shots it was 10PM.
This picture was taken on the Colonial Parkway up near Williamsburg. it is a 30 sec exposure and the vignetting you see on the upper left corner is my hand blocking the car lights from the lens. This is the same pond in the fall at 4 in the afternoon. Lake
This was my Alt shot for today. York River Bridge
John (300m) > July 5: As seen from a canoe
My daughter and I rented a canoe yesterday afternoon after we did our archery shooting. The day was hot, muggy, and overcast. It had just finished raining before we went shooting arrows as the field was still wet. The canoe's were great as the breeze was nice and the water felt good. Sky was overcast and cloudy but the rain held off for us. I took my Pro1 again with us for some shots along the water. This flower was along the bank of one of the small inlets To hold the canoe steady we had our paddles in the water in the mud attempting to hold the canoe at least stable while I tried to get shots at various angles without getting stuck on the down trees in front of this flower. This was the better of the 3 shots I took. Lots of debris behind the plant and this shot does not show this. The frame in this picture I am demoing the program Bill Paldor mentioned in his, OnOne's ProFrame. There are 48 frames in the demo, 4000 in the actual. This is just a plain ellipse keyed to the plant and the background is the same color as the new bulb.
John (300m) > July 2: On the lake with my daughter
My daughter talked me into renting a paddle boat down at Newport News Park. We (dad) motored across the lake the best we could. The boat handled like a beached whale and spent most of the time crabbing instead of going straight. I took my Pro1 with me and snapped a bunch of shots. I got to see first hand what Kathy means when she kayaks on the lake and says it's great. We had a ball!! I worked us into position to get this shot and Kara held us steady so we did not hit the tree behind us with the wind moving us. It was worth the effort I think. We enjoyed our 2 hrs on the lake, but I was wuppped when we were done. My daughter wants to rent a kayak or canoe next as they blew past us on the way to the other side of the lake.
This shot was color corrected in PS using RGB curves method as it had a blue/green cast to it and I added a touch of contrast to the final product.
I think I have finally managed to catch up with everyone now from my trip. Thanks to everyone for the comments

Enjoy your 4th Holiday!! We are off to breakfast now and some archery, shopping (I get to goto Apple store while they shop), camera store :) and then I promised dinner at the "California Pizza Kitchen" my daughter likes at the big mall in Norfolk
