John (300m) > The A Rose is a Rose Challenge...05/11/09
The Challenge:Show us your interpretation of A Rose is a Rose.
The Participants: Kre8ive, The Curious Camel, Karina, Creative Deviance, Lady Kate, Johnloguk, FotoEffects, Hillary, and myself.
The Result: This is one of the roses I cut my wife after her surgery. These were growing on our rose bush when we came home from the hospital and I went out and cut a few so Brenda could have some fresh rosed from the yard to look at. I took advantage of this to take a shot for the challenge.
John (300m) > Jan 7: The Rose
Another rose from the bunch I bought my wife on Sunday. I use dual light sources on this one to light the rose the way I wanted for this look. Have a great day
John (300m) > Jan 6: Pink Rose
I bought my wife a flower arrangement yesterday and this is one of the roses out of the arrangement. I liked the veins and the softness of the flower. As it is pouring rain here today there may be more shots later tonight. Thanks for all the nice comments on the reflections shot. I had fun doing that.
Alt Shot that Lady Kates will like Sleigh Enjoy!
John (300m) > Oct 14: A pale Rose
I came outside and saw that the tiny bud I had seen had bloomed. It's Oct and I have roses :) I really liked they way the sun backlight the pedals and made the veining in the pedals stand out. You can see where a bug had some lunch on the top pedals before the bloom opened. The colors were great and mother nature did all the work. This is straight from the camera sans removal of 2 spots I had on the lens :( Spots were in all the pictures and the same spot so I know it's the sensor. Time to get that cleaned. Need to read Bill's Blog on this and order the Perk pads needed.
Karina, I did put up that 15" Lincoln Gun in the Antique solorazation here as you asked.
 Lincoln Gun
Have a great day!
John (300m) > Oct 10: A Rose is a Rose
I was doing some chores in the yard yesterday AM when I saw this bloom on our rose bush. Like the others I figure this is maybe my last of the year. I see 2 more buds, but I am not hopeful. I like the way the light from the overcast sky was playing on this so I went and got my camera and took several shots hand held before I went back to my chores. I really liked this shot best of the group. It's the weekend, Enjoy!!
John (300m) > July 1: White Rose
This is one of the roses I got my wife for her birthday. I worked late yesterday and through lunch so I had no shots from a walk to even review. With traffic I got home after 6 and went to shoot arrows for an hour so come 8 I had no pictures. I tried some macro's of the roses, but they just do not have the detail at this level of magnification. They look great under the microscope at 15:1 :)
This one is a focus stack of 3 to get all the areas in focus. White is hard to focus on at 11 at night and get right. Dual flash setup with the R1. One on the ring at -1/3 and one on a light stand shooting down at -1.3 EV
